URBAN SURVIVAL SERIES — FOOD IN THE CITY, AND FOOD STORAGE
March 28 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
$30.00 – $45.00FOOD IN THE CITY, AND FOOD STORAGE
Thursday, March 28, Noon
We will start with basic home food storage. What should YOU store? How long do these foods last? Can you dry some of your own foods?
We will also talk about the abundant food in the cities, if you know where to look: We will explore the trees on city streets, weeds, neighborhood gardens, and trading.
What grows good in your yard? How do you make those selections?
Traditional food storage involves drying, canning, picking, and freeze-dried. We’ll discuss each of these. In an emergency, you’ll want food not dependent on electricity for storage.
Join us as we discuss some “survival food” from commercial companies.
Learn some of the basics of food storage, and how to create your own food storage system. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket!
$45 ($30 student/senior).
