Description
NUTS AND BERRIES OF CALIFORNIA.
This is a fascinating look at the foods that are all around, and often non noticed. Based on Christopher’s book of the same name, we will look at the common native wild nuts and berries of California, learn how to identify them, and learn some recipes for use.
We will also explore some of the non-native introduced plants that are growing all around us as street trees and ornamentals, which have food value. We call these the HIPs (Horticulturally Introduced Plants), such as the oaks, carob trees, kurrajong, cherries, and so many more.
About two hours.
