WILD FOOD WALKABOUT
In this class, we’ll walk about the watershed area in search of the seasonal plants. After our rains, we’ll see lots of the greens that develop in winter and spring in California. Who knows? We might even see mushrooms, though mushrooms are very unpredictable.
We’ll discuss edible, medicinal, and useful plants we find, and collect greens for soup.
Where it’s safe to do so, you’ll also learn to make fire without matches, and then we’ll make and cook soup!
Dress comfortably. Bring your bowl, and your water canteen for our walk. If you have an ethno-botany notebook for plant samples, bring it along so you can continue to keep records of your findings.
We’ll meet in the Arroyo Seco, with the exact spot sent out after you register.
