Description
You’ll receive a complete pattern for an adult CAPOTE, which you can adjust for various sizes. The pattern includes instructions for those of you who have never sewn a thing in your life.
I learned with this pattern, following step by step, cutting out the fabric, and sewing it all by hand! I begin by making a paper capote for my size, and then taping it and seeing how it fits. Then I can make some modifications to make sure it fits my body.
This is a really simple project, and you end up with a great garment for bushcraft gathering, and even for general going-out in winter. The capote consists of one main piece for the body, two arms, a hood, and belt and belt loops. However, there are many flourishes and decorations you can add, as you wish.
Suggestion: Buy an inexpensive blanket (or even use an old bed sheet) to practice making your first one. Then, when you understand the details, use a better fabric. This is a great life skills!
